Turkey Vulture
Last Saturday I posted a photo of a red-tailed hawk and explained that the birds at the University of Minnesota's Raptor Centre cannot be released in the wild after they have healed for a variety of reasons. This Turkey Vulture was imprinted on humans and would not survive in the wild because of that. Photographing through the sturdily built cages was not easy but I caught him in mid-stretch. Quite a remarkable bird.

Not so pretty either, but hate to see any creature in a cage.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful body but I am not too sure about the face. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello, great shot of the vulture's wing span! They are cool birds! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of a magnificent bird ~ glad we have people healing and protecting them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
What a beautiful wing span.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fascinating bird. You've captured it so well!
ReplyDeleteI hope it is a laaarge cage.
ReplyDeleteThey are huge!
ReplyDeleteYou caught a good moment. We saw a lot of these in California; not so many in Washington. I think eagles out compete them.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a spread!
