Condos?
I was very surprised to see the sign that recently appeared at this church on Summit Avenue in
St. Paul. There have been several small churches in various areas of the city that have been successfully converted into private residences but I wonder what will happen to this rather large church complex with its adjoining buildings. I must have missed the vital information because the sale of this church came as a shock. I don't think it will be an easy sale but one never knows! Perhaps it will make a rather stately condo/apartment building.

Surprise, here have several churches turned into apartments indeed.
ReplyDeleteI pray that it becomes an upscale restaurant, jazz club and bar. As the Good Book says: "Be jazzy and bar none from entering the house of the Lord. Let the feast begin!" Exekellent 24:24
ReplyDeletethere's a church not far from me that was turned into a private residence, kind of....i don't think it is done. it is a beautiful old church but i have heard the locals in the small town do not like the owners that purchased it as they are from somewhere else...they have put a sign out front "private residence, no photos" ...how can you own a piece of history and not expect people to take photos?!
ReplyDeleteThere is all kinds of potential here.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad to see. There's a church here whose congregation merged with another, and put their building up for sale. It's been purchased as part of a community initiative in regards to the area around it, making it a heritage-historical area, with the church serving as a centerpiece, as well as providing a number of services. I think that's better.
ReplyDeleteThat is happening all over Toronto - some of them are quite nice!
ReplyDeleteDear Kate, I shall do as you say. Woof!
ReplyDeleteone big house
ReplyDeleteAlways surprising when church buildings go on sale. Sad their congregation could not afford to keep this building.
ReplyDeleteThe church? For sale? Could be a great wedding venue.
ReplyDeleteMy SIGNS, SIGNS
I think it would be neat to live in a converted condo. It will be interesting to see what happens.
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful for the community if it took on a new life as condos or a restaurant or theater or art gallery or ....
