Quiltwork #2
I want to include "Bunnies in a Basket" with the quilts I have featured recently on this blog because it is hand sewed, which is less common these days. Most of the quilts I have seen lately are machine sown. I examined these blocks carefully and the appliqué and the hand stitches are beautiful.

Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThat is some beautiful hand quilting. I always feel like it's sort of cheating when a beatiful quilt is machine quilted.
ReplyDeleteNot my colors but the artistry is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are amazing, so much skill and patience! I couldn't help wondering if the beautiful quilt that was raffled a few posts back DID have your name on it Kate :)
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! You're right - I think a lot of quilting is by machines now. I have a neighbor who has an elaborate quilting unit that takes up an entire room. She's made some beautiful quilts. I suppose mastering the technology is a contemporary substitute for the hand work.
