The Hibben House

It seems odd that this modern looking house is probably the oldest house in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

The fence is a bit low for the house to be hibben behind. I can see it quite clearly....

  4. My guess is that the two rounded ends of the house used to be porches. There are not many houses where one could say "Lord Cornwallis slept here."

  6. The first thing I thought was "Gone with the Wind' (one of my very favourite movies of all time), it's a grand old house Kate.

  10. I'd guess that there have been many hammers and saws over the years. A shift here, an addition there.

  13. It seems kind of awkward, don't you think? So many of the Charleston-area homes are spectacular. I think I will lust after them and let someone else have this one.
