Very nice image. My guess is that this is from your trip to Cuba this year, or that it is from your archives from the years that you spent time during the winter in Mexico.
That umbrella could be very distracting and some people might even walk into a wall or in front of a car while trying to get a closer look. Not me, of course, but some other people.
I was wondering what you might chose for today. 'Wow' is my response :). You must tell us where it was taken. There is a suggestion that it might be Cuba.
A wonderful background to your beautiful umbrella capture ......I'm pleased you choose "Umbrellas" Kate ... it has been a fun Theme Day with lots of colourful entries.
That lady has on a sleeveless top. My sleuthing skills tell me you took this photo in warmer days! And now that I look at the houses/shops in the background my further deducing skills tell me it wasn't taken in St. Paul! Cuba maybe?
I had never seen umbrellas being used to protect people from the sun rather than from the rain until I moved to the desert southwest. I guess with our long droughts the umbrellas would otherwise never get any use at all. I love this photo, with the brightly colored buildings in the background and the sense of the blazing sun.

ReplyDeleteNice umbrella, Kate. This umbrella is much more interesting than the ones lined up in my hall with names like Morgan Stanley and Barclays and Chase.
ReplyDeleteUS women should smarten up and use parasols in the bright light of spring-summer-autumn. Our skin will thank us.

ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Kate.
An umbrella you can't miss! :-) This is Mexico, right?
