Oh, that looks very good! And the nice thing is that I wouldn't even have to order it. I'd just walk in the restaurant, the server would take one look at me and say, "Yeah, I know you! You'll want the crab salad." This happens all the time. I wonder why?
P.S. I do appreciate your philosophy re chocolate!
Crab: my favorite! The only thing less than perfect with your meal here is there are only two cakes. We live in the land of Dungeness crab and had whole cracked crab for dinner last night. Heaven! Absolute heaven!
I have wonderful memories of eating crab fresh from Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco with my parents when I was a little kid. Kate, when you started talking about eating fresh seafood I started craving it. I need fish, and I need rain. Bill has just put together a great trip for us up to the Pacific Northwest, which should supply both, and we have you to thank for the inspiration. And--it just started to rain here in the desert. Magic!
This looks great. I will accept your endorsement. I love good crabcakes, but I find that crab cakes vary widely in quality and bad crabcakes are terrible.
I was impressed at your ability to quote Shakespeare in a recent comment. Must have been a high school English teacher.
Oh my, that does look delicious! Now I'm hungry...
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that when you ordered this the waitress said, "Excellent choice."
ReplyDeleteThat looks fabulous! I am going to keep a copy in my recipe book. Thank you!!!!!

ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with crab cakes...especially in the south. You're getting your fill of Charleston in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteLooks good and healthy.
ReplyDeleteThis certainly looks fabulous to me, Kate! My kind of food.

These crab cakes were terrific, and I've had a few of the other kind myself. You guessed right about my former profession!
