Under Construction

Yesterday I  showed you a Minnesota Worker, and here are three different areas of the complex that are the result of the planning and skill necessary to complete this new community. It will be a wonderful urban development for retired people here in St. Paul, and already it has been received well with more applicants than units available. A lottery has determined who will be able to rent the units when the buildings are completed.

  1. Sounds like "they" need to build more of these structures up in them thar parts.

The Villages has a huge new complex for retired folks adjacent to an assisted-living facility and a hospital. It looks very nice. I'm going to post photos of it in a day or two.

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

  2. Re your question on The Villages: The Villages was begun by a man named Schwartz about 30-35 years ago...it now consists of over 30,000 homes and 80,000 people and is still growing. There are two "hometowns" - Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing.

It's very much a Disneyland for adults.

  8. I am not a big fan of new construction. Too much wasted real estate all over the place. They need to be kinder to the planet.

  9. It's great that St. Paul is looking to the future. Such housing will be sorely needed as the Baby Boomers age.
