A Mezzanine With A View
I took this photo while standing on the mezzanine overlooking the entrance and foyer at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. A number of years ago I watched the installation of this chandelier as it was being installed piece-by-piece by an army of Dale Chihuly's minions. It is lighted by neon rods in the center and is a huge attraction at the museum.

I like this 'take' on your art visit.
ReplyDeleteThat is just wild. I'd love to see it at night all lit up! Beautiful yellow color!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very recognizable piece of Chihuly work. I think it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Kate, you know how I love Chihuly glass! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love to examine that fantastic twisted collection of glass every single time we go to the MIA! It reminds me of a similar glass display at the Ritz Carleton Hotel in Singapore - a nice view every morning at breakfast it was!
ReplyDeleteWow...now that's an interesting piece!!! I too would love to see it at night...fully lit!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of a kind, I'm sure of that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty in wonderful color. Sometimes my hair has the same shape.
ReplyDeleteI love this glass installation and have seen many Chihuly installations. One of the most magnificent permanent displays is the ceiling at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Love this bright yellow!

His work is so amazing. I would have loved to see this put together. Thank you for the birthday wishes!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good example of Chihuly's chandeliers. They are always fascinating, whichever colors and forms. The Bushnell Hall in Hartford has a large, brilliant, fiery red-orange chandelier.
ReplyDeleteLove Chihuly's stuff. This is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love his work!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic chandelier and the perfect photo of it!
