During the Michael Simon's retrospective pottery show last Saturday (full explanation here), this man entertained the large crowd at the reception, playing non-stop for several hours. Because he was busy, I did not interrupt him. Steffe thinks, correctly I might add, that I need to add more biographical information to my portraits, the circumstances did not lend itself to interrupting this fine musician. Next time!

Excellent portrait Kate!!!
ReplyDeletePlaying for hours seems very impressive.
ReplyDeleteI think Frank with the blue hat would have been an interesting guy to give a "Steffe interview." Don't be so shy, Great Kate!

My granddad wore a beret like that!
ReplyDeleteThis fellow looks so...well...dapper!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can tell him that you are the "official" photographer and that you need a moment of his time... great portrait!
ReplyDeleteBises,
G
I just love this shot!
ReplyDeleteKate, this is really good. I will defend you from those who are ribbing you about not asking his name. Sometimes it just isn't feasible. But, Steffe is getting all of us more conscious about getting in close and trying to get some info about our subjects.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo!
ReplyDeleteFor your records, the artist's name is Chuck Solberg. He's a local potter and musician in St. Paul.
