Chloe,the Sloth-Saturday & Sunday Camera Critters
We who live in the Twin Cities are very fortunate to be able to visit the Como Zoo and Conservatory in beautiful Como Park in St. Paul. There are many educational and informational exhibits; on November 17, 2006, the new Tropical Encounters exhibit opened in the Visitor Center. This exhibit is a total immersion experience into a neotropical rainforest and is the first exhibit that combines both animals from Como Zoo and plants from the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. It features over 250 animals including giant river turtles, frogs, fish, free-roaming birds, leaf-cutter ants, spiders, an anaconda and “Chloe” the sloth. Chloe has been featured on my blog before, but this is the first time that I have been able to photograph her face. Cute, isn't she?!

How fabulous to even see a sloth, let alone photograph one. Super shots, Kate.
ReplyDeleteA most photogenic sloth at that!
ReplyDeletei love the coloration (in yarn, it would be the 'colorway') & the movement of chloe's fur! very dynamic for a sloth.
ReplyDeleteI've been to this great zoo but it's been quite a while ago. Chloe seems to be doing what sloths do best!
ReplyDeleteShe looks huggable, well cept for that claw.
ReplyDeleteSeems like you have a nice exhibit there. I heard recently that sloths are very contented animals and if you are fortunate enough to see their faces, they almost appear to be smiling. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteCute! I'd happily be a sloth. All that lazing around and taking things slowly. Oh, I already am! lol!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do have some long hair don't they?
ReplyDeleteChloe is a cutie!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Cute sloth. Great shot of her face.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I really like these photos, Kate. Nice job. That silky hair is really nice.
