This is one of many seasonal photos I have taken over the years along the shore of my beloved Mississippi River in the Twin Cities. Autumn is arriving late this year, which is just fine with me since these glorious colors are so ironic when one considers what follows: frigid temperatures, snow and ice. I can wait!!
"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." George Eliot
The autumn colours on your corner of the world are fabulous, you will not find them here in such way, but I don't envy your winters... :-)
ReplyDeleteI cross the Mississippi last week. Details coming.
ReplyDeleteThere's lots of color in those trees.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love those colors of autumn. Such a great shot.

You are ahead of us - we have no colour change yet just a bit of fading of the green leaves. I can wait too! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLots of great color! I was just there about 10 days ago to get some shots like that but the leaves were just starting to change and weren't in full blown color yet.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kate. I'm back in Hartford. Seems that foliage is late here, too. That makes me nervous. We need the leaves to fall off before the winter storms come. A few years ago there was a Halloween ice storm that took many trees down because the leaves acted like sails.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits while I was in France. Sorry that I was unable to visit your blog while I was away. Free time was scarce and the internet access was terrible!
This is so beautiful, love those red flamy trees.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours! Fall seems to be late with many of its colours here as well.
ReplyDeletehow pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Kate. Every time you mention The Mississippi....I think you are in Mississippi! I am familiar with the river down here...but keep forgetting it starts up there!.
ReplyDeleteI do remember Minnesota in the fall. It would have been my favorite season if it wasn't followed by winter!
ReplyDeleteThe Autumn colors are indeed Delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid ours are going to be few and far between due to the 4th year of drought.
Those colors are stunning. Now that you mention it I think our autumn is on the late side, too.
ReplyDeleteI too love the colours of autumn!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the leaves to change. Ours aren't nearly this pretty but it's still a wonderful and beautiful time of the year.
