Part of the fun was watching the children eating and playing while the adults were socializing. We older residents remarked how we enjoyed the turnover of younger families with more young children in the neighborhood now. I didn't have to bribe or pay them to cooperate for the photo. . . took all of 10 seconds.

That is a very nice photo, great you have so many children around, it is alway nice to have a mix of the old and the young. Makes the neighbourhood more lively.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo. And in the next 10 seconds I'll bet they were back to what they do best - whooping and hollering and running and laughing and having a good ole time!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LIKE your neighbourhood! Your neighbours looks so fun!
ReplyDeleteAh... summer nights in August with just a hint of 'back to you know where' ahead.
ReplyDeleteNeighbourhood night outs are such an excellent idea Kate, quite often people live in the same house for years without knowing their neighbours .. bit sad really, unless you have frightful neighbours :)
ReplyDeletevery cute bunch.
ReplyDeleteFun shots, Kate!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo Kate. That must have been fun for everyone.
ReplyDeleteSweet! I wish we had something like that when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see many generations of people enjoying a good time together. I hope your block party never goes out of style!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. Very nice photos.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of kiddies! Looks like a great event!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have so many kids in the neighborhood. In my immediate neighborhood, we have all been here for a long time, so the kids have grown up and moved away. But a few blocks from here, the new residents are populating the schools.
