You GOT Mail!!
Unusual rural mailboxes always interest me. The one is one of the more interesting. The one below needs a little touch-up but certainly appropriate for one located in the port of Sturgeon Bay, Wi.

September Theme Day is fast approaching for CDP. Keep an eye out and camera ready to photograph "Curiosities."
The first is curious, but the second one is really strange!
ReplyDeleteThe first is very posh, the second would have fit the 'curiosity' theme perfectly Kate :)
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about fish....I guess that must be a sturgeon? I like unusual mail boxes too. Photographing those could be a full time hobby!
ReplyDeleteYes, I really like the first little box. The second is a commonly seen mailbox around here because bass tournament fishing is a popular sport on all the big lakes and reservoirs that are nearby.
ReplyDeletei've seen some of those fish mailboxes around here too!
ReplyDeleteHave you priced mailboxes these days. They are getting, pricey and I'm not talking specialty boxes like these either.
ReplyDeleteLove the first one! The second is great for a fisherman!

We don't GENERALLY have Mail Boxes in the UK, we have letter boxes at the entrance of the house for the
ReplyDeletePostman to post the mail.
I rather like the fish mailbox quite unusual,
Best wishes,
Di,
ABCW team,
I always wanted a fun mailbox, but we always lived in places where they were "regulated".
ReplyDeleteI like both of these unique mailboxes! Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteMail ;-) How delightful this entry .... a way of filling in this weeks letter wich i would not have expected nor imagined
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day,
Melody (abc-w-team)
That's something I have always been jealous of: US mailboxes, they're wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, these are so cute.
ReplyDeleteWe have ugly mailboxes that are for 8 households.
I would love to have the first one.
I like them both!
ReplyDeleteso cute, esp the top one

That's a fun idea for the letter G! I've seen many unusual mailboxes for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe first one reminds me of one not far from where I grew up- their mailbox had the same general look of a barn, but painted red.
ReplyDeleteNowadays I jump for joy when I receive snail mail. I even wondered whatever happened to all the catalogs that used to flood my mailbox. Where the heck did they go?
ReplyDeleteMy ABC WEDNESDAY
they'd never last around here. someone would surely bash them.
ReplyDeleteThat mailbox is so cute
ReplyDeleteI was aware of overhead water tanks of different shapes, but this is new... loved the response
ReplyDeleteThese are so quaint specially that fish.
ReplyDeleteLove the whimsy!
ReplyDeleteI love unique boxes too. In fact, my parents had a mailbox that was an exact replica of our 18 wheeler. Unfortunately, people suck, and someone stole it from the road. Yup, true story.
ReplyDeleteCute. Reminds me of a wonderful row of mailboxes I caught in Oregon..(Hmmmm. Not sure I ever posted it. Need to take a look at it again.)
ReplyDeleteThese are nice. There are some neighborhoods near mine in Naples where people seem to compete with their unusual mailboxes. I should photograph a few when I get down there.
