Last June 12th I showed you the beginning stages of the Highland Park Library on this post. It's moving right along, but I am anxious for it to open in fall as predicted. The photo on the left was taken a few weeks ago, but now many glass windows have been added. This library is going to be enlightening in more than one way!

Looks like an open building full of light, hope they will have some blinds to protect the books in the future.
ReplyDeleteYour new library looks fantastic Kate, I like the dome shape to the one side, wonder what that will be used for? Not that long to wait till the library is complete, looking forward to visiting with you :)

ReplyDeleteLooks like it will be really nice.
ReplyDeleteMost interesting recent "visuals" as my wife Barb grew up in Highland Park. I'm an 'Eastsider" myself...:)
ReplyDeleteI like that there will be so much natural light inside the building.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, bright, building. I bet they will so many things to offer the public at this modern facility.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see this renovation as it goes along. The Hartford Public Library was renovated/reconstructed a few years ago with a lot of glass. It has a wonderful open feeling now that seems much more welcoming than old closed-off libraries. Big city libraries today do a lot more than just offer books to readers.
