Entertainment, too!

Recently I posted a photo here of an excellent take-away at Longfellow Market on Lake Street.  DH and I have become regulars now for a casual Saturday lunch.  Last Saturday I had a delicious Juicy Lucy while listening to this musician who entertained us with his music and a smile. If you live in the neighborhood, go to eat and listen.  Prices cannot be beaten! Incidentally the proceeds usually are given to a neighborhood food shelf;  a young boy scout whose troop was that day's recipient was volunteering at the store.  A good deal all around!

  3. I bet he was indeed fun to listen to.

I was thinking about you this week when I cleaned a closet and found an old copy of Fitzgerald's "This Side of Paradise." I had forgotten how well Fitzgerald could hold my attention and think I now need to reread "The Great Gatsby." ;)

  4. He looks like one jolly good fellow. And I love banjo music. But I checked a driving distance calculator and I'm 1,038 miles away so I guess lunch is out for this next week. Darnit!

  5. This guy reminds me of a pizza joint that used to be around here: Shakies. Banjo music, cheap beer, striped waitresses, silent movies. It's gone! Wonder why???????

  6. Wow! what a happy place! I wouldn't mind a little banjo music.
The sculpture at the Prescott Valley Town Hall called 'Not So Gentle Tamer' depicts a a woman who has just beheaded a rattlesnake with her shovel. The artist is Bob Boze Bell and it was sculpted by Deb Gessner. It shows one aspect of a pioneer woman's life in the southwest. I featured it in my post on July 10, 2013.

  8. I wonder if he had to ask someone if his leopard print banjo strap would go with his red and white striped shirt.
