Recently a newly-opened independent grocery store in Longfellow, a nearby neighborhood, offers an excellent lunch at excellent prices on Saturdays. I hope it continues because the meat is high quality from their meat department. Hot dogs ($1), absolutely delicious brats ($2), and huge Juicy Lucy hamburgers ($3). We have been shopping there recently because we want the market to succeed, plus I am delighted with the above Saturday specials.

ReplyDeleteThat is EXACTLY what some people do. I've sat outside and watched this happen. I wonder how long these wonderful outdoor summer Saturday lunches will continue after the store becomes more established? Can't wait for next Saturday, and I do save my grocery list to shop there.
DeleteGood luck to the folks running this place! Can't imagine trying to compete with the big boys but if they offer quality products at reasonable prices, they probably have a shot.

ReplyDeleteIt's really a good price to eat! If it's good, ok, but there are a lot of places with good prices but the food isn't good!
ReplyDeleteThose are good prices for barbecue. I imagine the outside cooking will have to come to an end when things get considerably cooler.
