73-year-old Margaret Atwood, the author of 14 novels and many other books of poetry and commentary, totally wowed and entertained the audience at the Fitzgerald Theatre in downtown St. Paul last night. She is witty, intelligent, and quick with a clever quip. She is definitely one of the most joyful and entertaining writers I have had the pleasure of seeing during a Talking Volumes interview.

Wonderful portrait, Kate. The background is perfect.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such and inviting and important project. Congrats MN.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Kate. I love her novels!
ReplyDeleteMargaret Atwood is indeed funny! And also very, VERY bright, as well as a great author. I LOVE her. :)
ReplyDeleteLots going on up thar in Minnesota! I would have enjoyed hearing Ms. Atwood for sure. I'm going to be posting mostly on L & L Photography for the time being. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to have so many great cultural activities in your city!

I am going to look for a series like this in Ft. Worth...where we finally are~
ReplyDeleteVery nice portrait...and it reminds me that I've yet to track down "Talking Volumes" on the internet. (Sometimes it seems like I spend entirely too much time sitting at the computer.)
ReplyDeleteI lost the first comment so I hope that this one works. I don't know exactly how to locate Talking Volumes but it's part of Minnesota Public Radio and it's also broadcast so you can hear it, too. Look for Kerri Miller if you can't locate it any other way. She does a bang-up job interviewing the writers. Last night she was not as "on top of it" as she usually is because it is hard to keep up with Atwood who is incredibly bright!! I,too, spend too much time on the internet, in thrift store and coffee shops. . . but what's a woman to do??>!!
DeleteInteresting. I will have to check her out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good series. The one I would like to hear is Pat Conroy. South of Broad was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI,too, am anxious to see and hear him being interviewed. Hope it's as good as his books!
DeleteMust have been a wonderful event.
ReplyDeleteLove her novels. Beautiful portrait.
