Buddha and Me

When I visited Common Grounds Meditation Center last Sunday, I was impressed with the simple and lovely decorations and statues in the building.

A friend took the opportunity to take a photo of me surreptitiously as I was photographing Buddha.  Some friends just can't be trusted.

  2. Never trust someone with a camera, friend or not! Do you remember the book, "If you meet the Buddha in the road, kill him!"? I've still got it somewhere. Excellent.

  5. Beautiful Buddha corner. Every photographer needs a photo or two of themselves at work!

  7. I am frequently in the role of your friend. I created a large collage poster of photos of Julie taking photos in dramatic locations around the world. Julie's mother has it hanging -- in her garage.

  8. We also have a small Buddha in our living room. It's quite nice actually.

  9. There's a beautiful Temple and grounds in Southern California that I have enjoyed visiting and photographing...very simple...very peaceful!!!

I laughed when I read your comment on my blog about never noticing the St. Francis statue!!! With so much else to see, you can't see everything!!! I forgot that you move to Santa Fe every year...I should have emailed you for tourist tips!!! Next time!!!

  11. I like both shots, each for a different reason. I do like how Buddha looks over your right elbow.

  13. Buddhas are very popular. I am often surprised at the unexpected and perhaps inappropriate places I see them.
