What a fabulous shot. Even that electrical cord snaking up the wall makes up a part of the overall character. How lucky for you to have had this opportunity.
Thanks for the tribute to Mr. Brubeck. I got to hear him live once and you've captured the vibrancy I remember him having. One of his sons, a cellist, played a concert in a little quilt fabric/camber music venue near where I lived in Berkeley many years ago, and was a very fine musician as well. I'm thankful for the giants of this generation of musicians who are still touring and influencing younger musicians. We lost Paul Motian earlier this year. Such a legacy they have left us. -Kim
Triste nouvelle que la perte de ce grand du jazz et la photo est geniale, la joie de vivre de Brubeck
ReplyDeleteOh no. RIP to this immensely talented man.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't remember listening to "Take Five" on your record player. Yes a loss.
ReplyDeleteA nice long life. Sad always to say goodbye to such talent.
ReplyDeleteA loss to the musical world indeed. Sweet melodies to Mr. Brubeck!

ReplyDeletemine, too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful portrait and tribute.
ReplyDeleteYes, sad to say goodbye.
ReplyDeleteI had many of his albums - a truly great jazz man! That looks like a rather early synthesizer he's playing.
ReplyDeleteGreat tribute to a magnificent musician!
ReplyDeleteA great tribute, and what makes it especially fine is such a vibrant and energy-filled portrait. And those hands! Those hands!!
