Shrine at On's Kitchen
Colorful Unfamiliar Symbols
To my Western Eyes
Before attending a Candlelight Service on Christmas eve, DH and I decided to eat a light meal at On's Kitchen, our favorite Thai restaurant where we are always treated like royal guests. I found it quite ironic that we were on our way to a religious service yet I knew nothing about the shrine that symbolized On's religion. Next time I'll ask her for an explanation, but she's always busy in her kitchen!! If you live in the Cities, go there for the best Thai food in the area and tell her that Kate and Jim sent you!!
On the way to church you run across the Buddha. Truly a wonderment. Best wishes for a happy and magical new year.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I'd not think of going to a Thai restaurant for breakfast. Might be fun. We've got one here that's pretty good, the Royal Orchid. I'll try that sometime when I'm not all "Thaid" up. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Thai food very much too.
ReplyDeleteThe Thai interpretation of Buddha are so attractive but I've never seen the ones in glass before. Seems like the perfect place to visit before church.

Buddha, a Christian church thai food? You've given me an appetite.
ReplyDeleteThere are beautiful things on the shrine and it would be interesting to know what they symbolize, but it's a lovely display to look at.
ReplyDeleteI do not think we have Thai restaurant in town, but I can always eat Italian...
ReplyDeleteNothing like good Thai food!
ReplyDeleteA coincidence. We had Thai take-out food on Christmas Eve because it was my son's birthday and Thai food is his favorite.
ReplyDelete(I go back tomorrow . . . )
ReplyDeleteThis sounds very much like my favorite Thai food place here. I love good Thai food.
ReplyDeleteI love Thai food. . .this was the day before you cooked up the Southern food storm, right? You didn't graze your way through two cultures in one day, did you?
ReplyDeleteLove Thai food. I am stuck on green curry. Hope you had a good Christmas!
ReplyDeletewhere is this place? i don't think I know it. and we love Thai food
ReplyDeleteOn's Kitchen is a few shops NW of the corner of University and Snelling on the north side of the street, right next door to The Love Doctor, you can' t miss it. There is a small parking lot in the back. Go and feast..the food is great!!
