I live in St Paul, but the metropolitan area is known as the Twin Cities so I felt obligated to give you a skyline photo from each one. Above is a photo I took from a window in a medical facility in 2013, showing the Capitol building and several government buildings behind the freeway.
Only a small part of downtown Minneapolis' skyline is seen from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts where I was standing when I took this photo in 2014.
To see more skyline photos from cities around the world, go here. Perhaps some will be enticing enough for you to want to visit. If you'd like to come to the Twin Cities, I'll be glad to show you around!
Both beautiful views. I like the colours and the lines in the first shot
ReplyDeleteBoth fab skylines Kate, the autumn trees in the foreground in the first shot are a wonderful lead-in to the city.
ReplyDeletepretty choices kate! i took mine in the fall too :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic views Kate. I visited your area back in 2009 and we really enjoyed it. I took some photos of both places and the links are below if you wish to view them.

Bill, I checked both links and loved all the photos you posted. I probably should have used you as a guest photographer for this theme day.
DeleteGreat photos Kate. When I was working for Wells Fargo and would have to spend time in Minneapolis, I always loved admiring the skyline of that city. It really is impressive.
ReplyDeleteThese are very familiar places to me. I wish I was there now as it is blistering hot down here!
ReplyDeleteTwo great views of the Twin Cities! I like all the beautiful fall color in the first one.
ReplyDeleteJa, both are nice! Thank you for sahring them!
ReplyDeleteBoth shots are very nice. The soft colors of the Minneapolis shot are nice with the strong angular lines of the buildings.
ReplyDeleteTwo for the price of one! Good post!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything but the airport interior in the Twin Cities. Thank you for a much better idea of what your city is like.
ReplyDeleteI like them both Kate. Your government buildings look a little like ours!
ReplyDeleteObviously the one clicked in 2013 looks better.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully composed!
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is postcard worthy, Kate !
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view in the first image, the sister looks quite majestic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skylines! I especially like the fall foliage in the first one. :D
ReplyDeleteVery nice!

This comment was supposed to go here, just in case you're wondering...
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful views. I have the same sort of dilemma- I live in Ottawa, but the national capital region includes Gatineau on the Quebec side of the river, so I should photograph there more often than I do.
Hmmmm. The Minneapolis skyline seems pretty tame compared with the St. Paul version. Guess you live on the right side of the river.
ReplyDeleteHi Kate! Great images, I love the second one, looks like a cubist painting! Saludos!
