Rather than do some research myself, I thought that I would take the easy way out and ask if any of you can identify this very interesting tree/shrub. I've watched it dry up during the fall and winter but spring back to life during the wonderful summer months. After several years, I suppose I should finally make an effort to find out.

ADDED LATER: I surfed the web and the closest I could find is a "dwarf weeping fir" tree: go here to see "weeping Larch tree"

If it has red flowers it may be this one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callistemon In Brazil it has the same popular name: 'escova de garrafa'
ReplyDeleteI'd love to help but I'm not sure. Interesting to see that the ground cover below has a very similar look to it!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen one like that. It's sure a pretty one, whatever it is.
ReplyDeleteThat is most unusual looking. I have no idea what it is.
ReplyDeleteCan't help with identification, but when I look like that I need a hair cut.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea!
ReplyDeleteI can't help you either. Should have a contest to see who can ID it :)
ReplyDeleteHmm ~ unusual and I don't have the answer ~ Fun post though.
ReplyDeleteHappy Days to you ~ ^_^
this is a new one on me. Fascinating that it dries up and then flourishes again.
ReplyDeleteLooks more like a weeping fir tree to me, but who knows? Lovely shot, though.

I have a weeping spruce tree in my back yard and I love it. Think it's the same as mine.

Dwarf weeping fir? That's pretty interesting. I wonder if I've seen anything like that here (we are, after all, the Evergreen State). I'd expect an evergreen like a fir to stay green year round but you have some pretty tough winters.
ReplyDeleteSorry haven't seen one before. pretty though.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty.
ReplyDeleteNot my strength, but it is interesting
