Trying to find a navigable route from my house to Trader Joe's is an exercise in creativity. St. Paul is still in the throes of ripping up almost all major streets and highways to make improvements. Hard to be patient this summer for the finished products; the seasonal construction appears to have been worse this year than previous seasons.

sorry to hear about disturbance hope things will turn to be better soon
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nightmare especially for a big city.
ReplyDeletei miss trader joes...when we were still in san diego i had one very close to my house...haven't lived near one since :(
ReplyDeleteOne of those things that must be endured but bad enough when just one street is being worked on.
ReplyDeleteThe street in front of my house just happens to be closed right now for construction. I can get to my house okay but I can only go in one direction. Fortunately, I can still get to Trader Joe's without any problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those rare persons who has never shopped at a Trader Joe's. Actually, I'm rather proud of that! :) I remember construction in Minnesota was exceedingly and excruciatingly slow...and then winter returns and things are still a mess. Things are a mess here, too, but they can work year 'round to keep 'em that way! Thanks, Kate, for all your nice comments!
ReplyDeleteNot fun! I love TJ's and miss it muchly.
ReplyDeleteWe usually stop at the Trader Joe's on France Avenue in Minneapolis. It is easy to get to. Good sign find.
ReplyDeleteA cheerful sign. One of our major streets downtown is in a state of perpetual construction at present because of an LRT tunnel project.
ReplyDeleteConstruction can kill a business.
ReplyDeleteWow. Sounds like Trader Joe's is a place with some power - to create all this massive construction world.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have been the same here - you can't go anywhere without running into construction!
ReplyDeleteTrader Joe's is worth it though!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks like serious construction. (Don't know if it's any consolation but the nearest Trader Joe's is an hour's drive from us...and I'm out of their Belgian chocolate at the moment.)
ReplyDeleteHappy faces will make you excuse anything. :)
