Alex waived at me Friday morning as they unloaded the liners for the fireplaces. I was relieved that both would be completed by the end of the day. No such luck. After previous backbreaking work to clear the debris in the fireplaces, it was discovered that the basement fireplace is too narrow for a standard liner. Now we have to have a special, more narrow liner installed. We'll learn more on Monday. Fingers crossed!!
City Daily Photo bloggers post photographs on a theme on the first day of each month. On
February 1, they will address this intriguing question: If you had to leave forever the city
from which you usually post, what would you miss most?
Oh that always seems to be the way Kate, nothing is straightforward these days.. There are always complicastions :)
ReplyDeleteoh, bummer!!
ReplyDeleteOh, dear. The surprises on project like these are never the good kind, are they?
ReplyDeleteIf it ain't one thing it's another! Sorry about the delay but you do want to right liner. I know when I fly I want an airliner and not a liner for a kitty box.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! What a job.
ReplyDeleteMy father built two fireplaces himself.. Both were beautiful. The instructions were in a DIY book that he bought which I still have.
Let me hazard a guess. More $$$$$$ for a special order? Money going up in smoke? Rough time to be without a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like quite a job!
ReplyDeleteBut they are really hard at work. Especially in the snow.

Ouch! Birdman has it right: money going up in smoke. Sorry to hear it's even more effort and expense.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it's all sorted out soon!
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Hope it's fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Birdman. So sorry about this.
ReplyDeleteHe looks willing to fix the fireplace but a pity it didn't fit in your place.
