US Custom House-ABC WEDNESDAY 'H'

    An elegant building suitable to its purpose. I did read the article - that's quite a history. Pleasing South Carolina has never worked out too well in the long run, however! :)

    Interesting history and a beautiful building! It's interesting that the "U.S. Customs House" on the front wasn't added until 1964. You'd think that by then people would pretty much know the place. ;->

    Beautiful! I visited a custom house in southern New Mexico last year. It was a mere snack compared to this palace!

    I'm afraid we will never see beautiful buildings like this being built, the cost is just to high. Now everything built is boxy and generic.
