"Jammin" with Steel Drums
Two days ago I showed you a portrait of a story-teller whom I met at an event at Pinckney National Historical site. A group of Lincoln Middle School students entertained us with their music. A very talented group!!
two excellent compositions. i love this sensitive portrait.
ReplyDeleteH e looks like he is one with the music.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteNice portrait, Great Kate! It must have been really fun to listen to him play the steel drums!!
ReplyDeletenice portrait, i like his eyes! we bought a steel drum in jamaica...love the way it sounds...sounds better in jamaica though :D
ReplyDeleteThis would enhance the enjoyment of people in the area.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear they were a talented group. I taught middle school and the bands I remember were a bit less than talented. Lots of noise, tho! :-)
ReplyDeletei love the sound of these drums! so cool!
ReplyDeleteHe looks way too serious. I would think steel drums would bring a smile to his face while he played.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait but I love that close up of the drum. I can almost hear it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great portrait!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful face! Thank you for this post.

How I love steel drums! I'd love to see how this good looking fellow looks with a smile on his face. I'll bet he's irresistible.
ReplyDeleteHe looks very concentrated. Must be hard work to play those drums. :)
ReplyDeleteLike your capture of this young man's face. Concentration level is high and seems to be intently watching the music director.
ReplyDeleteToning and tuning their drums must be a tedious affair!
Nice photos. I love steel drum music.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of steel drums!
