Meet Maggie Brown
While checking a newly constructed home in her neighborhood for some interesting photos, I stopped to chat with Maggie Brown who had greeted me cordially. 86-year-old Maggie is a lifelong resident of Mount Pleasant, SC. After teaching for 25 years at the elementary level in the Charleston area schools, Maggie retired. This friendly woman of amazing energy had 5 girls and 3 boys, two of whom have died, but the rest of her offspring check on her regularly, which she thinks is really unnecessary, With her energy she certainly is independent and plans to be around for many more years.

Maggie is a fine example of a senior citizen.
ReplyDeleteYou made a nice portrait of her.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait, Kate!
ReplyDeleteAnother great portrait. Eight children?? Yikes, she deserves a medal.
ReplyDeleteShe is a very young looking 86! Lovely portrait.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like someone that I would enjoy visiting with too.
ReplyDeletebless her! may she keep going for years and years. :)
ReplyDeleteHer white hair is the only age giveaway. Yet she's had 8 kids and done 25 years of teaching. She's one resiliant lady! Nice portrait.
ReplyDeleteNice portrait. She looks like she has many stories to share...including how she looks so well preserved at her age after teaching for so many years and raising 8 children.
ReplyDeleteLovely portrait.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait. She was born in 1927. So long and so short ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, lovely lady; she reminds me of our next door neighbour. This is another picture I would love to pin if I may have your permission.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait of this pretty lady.
ReplyDeleteI hope I have her spunk when I'm 86! She sounds healthy and happy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful portrait.
ReplyDeleteKate, this portrait is superb. You composed it well and you caught a fine, intelligent expression on her face.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful person; lovely smile; and I'll bet she was a good and kind teacher, but abided no nonsense! That's what I'll bet, 'cause I had a few like her! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love this portrait Kate, Maggie has a wonderfully kind face, gosh she doesn't look 86 does she.
ReplyDeleteNice portrait! She does look like a school teacher.
