Vino in the Valley-ABC WEDNESDAY "V"

Some of the rural neighbors, but not all, are not happy with Vino in the Valley,  the winery and restaurant in their neighborhood. It appears that they object to the traffic and the noise on week-ends.  It is a tranquil and lovely area so I suppose some residents want to keep it in its original state. The bottom photo is the area that surrounds the winery and restaurant.

  1. This is the kind of controversy happening everywhere, I guess.

  2. There is far too much of this despoiling of the countryside going on. Mind you it has been happening I suppose since Adam was a boy.

  3. I always wonder what came first, the people protesting or the business. Kinda like when people move in a landing zone for an airport and complain about the noise. OH well, maybe they should go enjoy some vino, maybe get a discount.

  4. that old tug of war between commerce and community.

  5. Sorry to see the conflict, but wineries are usually charming and picturesque neighbors.

  6. There is always two sides to every story! Seems there is no compromise to situations anymore!

  9. I wonder if the sign will have any impact on the business.

  10. Hard to know what to think without more background. How long has Vino in the Valley been there? How much traffic and noise is there? How much traffic and noise is churned up by local tractors?

On the other hand, corporate interests too often look out for only one thing: their own corporate interests.

Bunch of nimbys/wowsers. From its website, the vineyard doesn't actually look as if it's going for the Bud/Miller?Coors Lite demographic.
More like sophisticated folk like the Muras...

  12. Commercial establishment makes the community strong when it comes to stability though.

  14. That sign seems to destroy the landscape too.
It certainly is a lovely area. I think I would love to have dinner there.

  17. Jobs and an economic boost, or pristine nature? The perennial battle. Lots of places would be happy with a nice winery and restaurant.
