It was interesting to watch the installation of a piece of art in one of the galleries at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

gonna need a big nail
ReplyDeleteGonna need a couple of big nails. What fun, though! The Mpls Inst. of Arts is a great place!
ReplyDeleteThe picture to be hung looks a big fuzzy, though. The painter must have had the wrong setting? ;-))
Yes, it's interesting to watch behind the scenes.
ReplyDeletePS: I am glad you liked Piella's blog.
A lot of work goes into that process and knowing how often they move things around, it goes on all the time.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about the mission, I think the one side had been recently cleaned and painted and the other side was waiting for treatment. I'm glad I caught it in between instead of with scaffolding all around it.
Interesting shot! Each man, including the portrait, seems to be in his own world. I really like the composition.
ReplyDeleteBet that's a stressful job. I love Kandinsky.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Kate. This one looks like a Chuck Close. Do you know anything about him? If not, google him. You will discover some amazing things. He has a condition that prevents him from recognizing faces, even though he specializes in painting faces, and he is severely paralyzed.
ReplyDeleteI love this shot Kate and the artwork!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while, I need to visit the MIA.
ReplyDeleteI like watching this sort of happening too.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture and a magnificent piece of reportage!
