Farmers' Market
Usually when I visit the downtown Farmers' Market on Saturday or Sunday, I overbuy and come home with more vegetable than we can possible use and eat. On Friday I decided to go to a satellite market held on a church parking lot. There was less variety and fewer vendors, but I came home with...guess what? Too many vegetables...more than we can eat! People watching was also abundant!

This is such a natural shot and I like the soft light cast by the tent. She has such a nice smile I'd have bought too many veggies off her too.
ReplyDeleteI think it must be the same everywhere. We have a farmer's market in the shopping center parking lot on Tuesdays and Saturdays and when we buy there we end up eating the same thing for a long time. Like green beans.
ReplyDeleteNice photo of the lady.
In delta, the Olathe Sweet Corn is in, and we have been eating a lot of it lately. Some of the best in the world if I do say so my self! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment on my blog, Kate. You did not delet it, it was just waiting for moderation before appearing on the site.
ReplyDeleteI love K. Hepburn pic on your profile! :-)
Greetings
Doesn't everything look so good at a farmer's market? Not only the vegies and fruit but the homemade breads and jams. Yum. How could we NOT overbuy :)
ReplyDeletei overbuy, too.... except the sweet corn.... we eat ALL of it.
ReplyDeletein the late summer we have many dinners that are nothing more than sweet corn and green beans and tomatoes. perhaps tonight...
Even though we have the big Farmers' Market downtown, we still have little markets all around the area.
ReplyDeleteI just bought Heirlooms and Bradleys at the Market the other day. . . . LOVE them!
During my look back at your photos I really like the people pictures & this one, with the expression, is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteKate,
ReplyDeleteI come home with the opposite problem. I get so engrossed in photographing the veggies, the dogs , their owners, the live music, that i came home with nary a tomato or peach last time. That's just crazy.
It is always difficult to pass up all the wonderfully fresh fruits and vegetables, especially that grown locally. I think it's because we know it is short-lived and soon we will be back to greenhouse tomatoes and imported things that were picked green. This is a very nice candid shot.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you! Those tomatoes look tempting!
ReplyDeletelovely candid shots. We do the same, I just can't seem to get used to buying for 2!
