#20-"Adobe Sundance"
On the first floor, the Capitol Rotunda Gallery had an exhibit called, "New Mexico Fabrications Art Quilts by New Mexico Art Quilters," which was an outstanding collection of approximately 30+ quilters. This one entitled "Adobe Sundance" was crafted by Michelle Jackson of Albuquerque, NM.

ReplyDeleteThe quilter is beautiful: great Mexican colours!! And the Buffalo sculpture is amazing; but a bit weird on the State Capitol... ;)
The artifacts look great, and remembered me of one large vase I carried once all the way from Mexico through several airlines connections... Ugh!

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt. I am in awe of the work that quilters do. I was just telling a friend tonight how I regret that I didn't get to see the Gees Bend Quilt exhibit when it was in Auburn. I think their designs are so abstract and just wonderful. Thanks for sharing this lovely quilt.
