During the school year students accompanied by a science teacher regularly tour the neighborhoods bordering the Mississippi River to paint these signs on storm sewers. Community service at its best, begun at an early age!

  6. I love the shot - especially enlarged. The texture of the asphalt is very nice.

  9. Ha! I have a similar shot of the street drain markers down here our part of Florida. Our section of the intracoastal waterway is officially the Indian River Lagoon, but everybody just calls it "the river."

    Nice pic.

  12. This is the way to go - kids learn by doing!!!

Kids are so much more aware of the environment now than when I was at school.

  17. This is a wonderful idea which helps the community and more importantly installs a since of community participation in the children. These young people may take these lessons learned and expand them to many great contributions over their life time ... bravo.
