A week-end on the North Shore of Duluth, Minnesota with our grandkids.
We manage to take at least one week-end each summer to Duluth with our two grand-kids, and invariably we have a great time: going to the beach at Park Point on Lake Superior, watching world freighters arriving and departing, building campfires, wandering around the tourist area, and playing cards and dominoes. The five-year-old still thinks it's a wonderful treat, and the thirteen-year-old would prefer being with his friends but is a good sport about it and always tells us how great it was! Who could ask for anything more?!

ReplyDeleteWe'll be up there in a couple of weeks - we always try & time our trips into Duluth to watch one of the massive ships coming into harbor. I think Duluth is one of my favourite north American cities - it's full of charm.

ReplyDeleteI hope you will believe me: it's so nice to read these few lines about your week-end that I've got feeling to be there. Thank you Kate !
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I would both look forward to and dread going to stay a week or two with grandparents, and without exception, loved every minute of it. Once we were there, there were always new worlds to explore, and I've gotten old enough now to appreciate those times even more.
ReplyDeleteI know your grandkids will appreciate looking back on these times too. Count on it.
