Italian Masks

Adults in my neighborhood also celebrated Halloween. These Italian masks are made of paper machie, and the gold is actually gold leaf. They are simply exquisite.

  1. Hi Kate - love the masks - I bought some in Venice which I adore.

Love your blue post - I'm afraid I'm a day behind and haven't got to even post today as I have been catching up after my diasterous day yesterday. Thought I'd post my second choice for the blue theme.

  3. I didn't know that they made that type of mask out of paper mache. Gold leaf makes it so unique.

  5. Sometimes a mask keeps one from having any sense of the person behind it. This mask, though, only accentuates the beauty of the wearer-woman.

Both blue-eyed ladies -- nice smiles too.

I like the masks. I was telling someone this morning that masks have come a long way from my youth. We used to be able to get masks brightly colored on starched cheese cloth. Really flimsy. And held on your head with a rubber band. Remember those Kate.
