On Friday night John, a very talented musician, had a gig at the Como Lakeside Pavilion in St Paul from 5-7 pm. John played as part of the Summer Music in the Park program. The sun was shining and the temperature was high, but the open air atmosphere and the lake breeze compensated for the humidity. The audience loved him and some people sang along with John in the piano bar atmosphere. The portraits show the many faces of John as he played and entertained the crowd. Tomorrow I will post photos of some of the singers that joined John while he played.

Great shots of this guy Kate. It sounds like a good time for everyone.
ReplyDeleteGreat fun, Kate. He looks like he's having fun and knows what he's doing. I've often been amazed at the plethora of talent we have in all sections of this country, and that the line between plodding along and stardom is very thin and a matter of being in the right place at the right time or knowing the right people.
ReplyDeleteExcellent musical portraits, Kate!
ReplyDeleteWe must take advantage of this good weather while it is here!
ReplyDeleteWonderful portraits of the piano man, Kate. I always love listening to the piano, I find it so relaxing and soothing.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a wonder that musicians can convey their music and still manage to be interesting performers. Does John have a last name?? I like his tee shirt, and I like your portraits.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun trying to capture a good photo of a musician at work, isn't it?
