Everyone loves a party, especially one with good conversation, some surprise gifts and accolades for work well-done. Last week four of my former colleagues were feted as they retired after many years of creative and dedicated service as outstanding teachers at the same time that they occasionally served as administrators. At one time in the past Lucy and I both taught some lively middle schoolers who kept both of us on our toes. Retirement is well-deserved, and I suspect that Lucy will find many activities to keep her busy!

I bet she will find lots of adventures to occupy her time.
ReplyDeleteExcellent portraits of her!
ReplyDeleteI bet Lucy will enjoy retirement so much. I'm guessing teaching doesn't leave much spare time Kate ✨
ReplyDeleteShe looks way too young to retire!
ReplyDeleteShe looks very young to be retired! Great pics of her, Kate!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that you continue to go to retirement parties. By now most of the people I worked with (and whom I cared about) have gone on to the next stages of their lives. (And in the case of Columbus, it is too far away to go for a party lasting an hour or two.)
ReplyDeleteI'm certain that Lucy truly earned her retirement. I'll bet she finds plenty to keep herself occupied (and you can always provide blogging pointers if she needs a suggestion.)
ReplyDeleteI'm envious, oh to be able to retire, so many things I would do.
ReplyDeleteHappy Retirement!
