Fallen trees
Unrelenting recent rainfalls have swollen the Mississippi River and flooded part of Hidden Falls Park. The drenched earth was unable to securely hold some of the old majestic trees. Close to my home, my dogs, young grandchildren, and I often visit the park to enjoy its natural beauty. The sight of the fallen trees is a sad sight. Didn't deter visitors, though. The boat ramp was closed but several hopeful fisherman were enjoying their sport along the bank, not far from the fallen trees.

Yes that is always sad to see a tree coming down, but that is nature. More sad is when people get the trees down for building highways or buildings.
ReplyDeleteThat is terrible!
ReplyDeleteAnd we brace for worst heat wave of this summer this coming weekend.
So sad! That looks like serious flooding.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is sad. I always hate to see a tree downed like that. I hadn't heard that you were having some excessive rain up your way.
ReplyDeleteThose water levels are really high!
ReplyDeletewow that is high, how long did it take to go down again?
ReplyDeleteYou have nicely captured the consequences of high water in this park.
ReplyDeleteWe had high water problems here in Virginia too.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard about the flooding in your region. What a shame to lose such stately trees.
