Details

Detail of the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus.  I often like to view the building from across the Mississippi River because its appearance changes with the color of the light during the day. The galleries feature wonderful exhibits of modern art. Not everyone feels as I do about this museum. I  love this Frank Gehry building!

  9. I like it better than many other Gehry buildings. Whenever I see a Gehry building I think to myself that they are going to be very expensive and difficult buildings to maintain.

    1. You are absolutely right, Jack. Some of his otter buildings reportedly have some serious maintenance problems.

  10. This looks like a beauty. Your and Jack's comments, above, remind me of problems with the Frank Lloyd Wright Civic Center in Marin County, California. It was his last public commission and was plagued for years with leaks and associated issues.

  12. Gehry is amazingly creative as an architect. This building reminds me very much of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. Love them both.
