I live in a lovely neighborhood in a small house with a small backyard. I use this lack of space as my reason for avoiding gardening. I know that I "should" engage in an honest effort to design and create more vegetable and flower gardens. I am also very aware that there are ways to plan and work creatively around space imitations, and it is possible to work magic with fruits, veggies, and flowers. I read about this almost daily in our local newspaper! Yet when I see hanging plants like these with those gorgeous blossoms I know that I will be very happy with such specimens decorating the patio. They make a wonderful environment for reading and sunning. I am content with my garden center flowers and my 6-8 clay pots of herbs What more could I want?!

Really gorgeous garden flowers. We have a variety as well, but are waiting for most of them to come to full bloom.

I like the idea of container gardening. I have too many gardens at the weeds have gotten way, way ahead of me this year. Containers appeal to me. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you happy is most important; the hanging baskets are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more Kate. A small garden is the way to go, especially with the availability of such gorgeous pots and baskets.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a beautiful garden but these days I just don't have the time or energy to devote to it. A small space like yours, Kate, that I could brighten up with just a little bit of effort would suit me fine. I'm looking forward to returning to Phoenix and settling in a small place with just enough back yard to accommodate a small dog and a couple of tomato plants!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Kate! And anything that leaves more time for reading is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteyour garden is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWonderful and colorful.
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous flowers. I think I've mentioned before, I'm a terrible gardener. It would be cruel for me to try to grow anything. Poor plants.
ReplyDeleteyou do more than i do! i have two lantana plants that manage to come back each year, some rough looking morning glories struggling on the gazebo, finally have trumpet vines big enough to bloom. that's it!
ReplyDeleteYou are probably right. Bigger garden, bigger work.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've figured out what to do! Who needs a big yard? And that reminds I need to cut the grass, again!
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers and pots of herbs!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, what more you could want?!
Like Birdman said, bigger garden, bigger work.
Very pretty! I'd be hopeless trying to keep a garden... I'd end up killing anything less hardy than a cactus.
ReplyDeleteI have a Lethe garden but is is the small spaces in it that give me the most joy. Begonias and herbs are among my favourites.
ReplyDeleteLovely plants Kate.
ReplyDeleteThat is the way we garden too Kate. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Kate! My Hibiscus are in full bloom too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe are hard to resist, aren't they! I love walking through the nursery sections at Lowes and Home Depot. I just want to fill my cart with blossoms!
ReplyDeleteYou could do much, much worse than surround yourself with beautiful flowers like this!
