There were quite a few of them around my home town in Illinois too.

This is good! All people deserve respect for their benign traditions.
I don't recall any such mounds here in Ontario, but I have heard of them in various spots in the States. The fencing is the right touch.

My kids were always intrigued with these. I wonder what the builders would think of St Paul now!
I've seen photographs of mounds that have been given much less respect. It's nice to see that yours are fenced and acknowledged.I don't think we have mounds like this in the west.
I like the photographs. We have nothing like that here in southern Maine that I know of for burials.
I love the presence of the mounds.
