A beautiful mural!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad end for what should have been the continuation of a legacy of Mississippi River riverboats.
ReplyDeletecette peinture murale est magnifique
ReplyDeleteShe must have been quite a sight when she paddled up and down Big Muddy. A vision from the past. Only bigger. Nice that she's commemorated in a mural. Makes me think of Showboat. Oops, now I'm humming "Ol' Man River." Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteHow sad that the Mississippi Queen ended up in the scrapyard! I can picture evening dinner cruises with a jazz/blues band playing during the warm summer months...
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun mural! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat mural of a bygone era.
ReplyDeletescrap, eh....what were they thinking!
Well, that's sad. Is this the one we used to see plying the St. Croix? Such a beautiful mural!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm keeping up with a few blogs such as Oala and Florida Fotos and Images...don't know about the rest yet. It's too much and I want to do other things! :-)
I followed your link to her history. A Queen that it's many riders will remember.
ReplyDeleteNice looking mural.
ReplyDeleteA lovely mural, but so sad that the Queen is being scrapped. We are so careless of our history.
ReplyDeleteBrings back memories. We cruised the Miss.(at a meeting) out of St Louis 35 yrs ago on the art deco SS Admiral. I love river cruising....Also did a Rhine Cruise from Switzerland to The Netherlands this Spring. I am sure I would have loved the old Queen...
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
A really funny one!
ReplyDeleteMississippi boats are so cool! Great mural, Kate.
