Come Fly With Me!

Today Olivia, our grand-daughter, Jim, and I are flying away to one of my favorite cities, but Maggi, our dog and Sadie, the parrot as well as Chica, the cockatiel are being cared for by our son Karl.  No, we're not flying on Sun Country to Boston, but we're winging off to Santa Fe on Delta, our least favorite airline.  We'd rather be on Sun Country, but it doesn't fly to Albuquerque. We love Sun Country, a small airline headquartered out of the Twin Cities and have used it exclusively in the past to go to Mazatlán, México.  It's familiar to many of us in this area, but I wonder how many bloggers are aware of this little gem?

It may take me awhile to get my Santa Fe blog up and running again, but do come visit it while we're there!  I have my own Santa Fe blog (My Santa Fe-Kate)  for our visits; check here to see what we're doing after we arrive!

  5. Did Sun Country fly charters to Vegas? Seems like I remember taking it from Dallas to Vegas probably 10 years ago.

  6. Jim, Yup, you probably flew on it. SC started out as a charter flight but has regularly expanded, battled with the larger airlines out of Msp, once Northwest now Delta, who try to run it into the ground with competive pricing on similar routes. Still runs charters, too. It has filed for bankruptcy several times, been sold a few time, but always re-emerges. Local patrons because the employees are always top drawer.

  7. Have a lovely journey to Santa Fe. Perhaps you will think of those who, in times long past, journeyed there along the Santa Fe Trail. So much easier now!

Good times await--can't you just smell the wonderful air of New Mexico?

  8. Does this mean I can take a two month vacation? Santa Fe must have know you were coming the sun is shining brightly and the sky is beautiful just for your arrival.

  9. I will look forward to your posts from Santa Fe. I was unfamiliar with Sun Country Airlines. Seems like an odd name for an airline based in Minnesota, unless they are featuring the places you can fly south from there.

  11. Have fun out there. I felt badly that your Mexico jaunt got scrubbed at the last minute in the winter. Glad to learn that you will be going to another of your (and my) favorite places.

  12. Hahahaha!
"Wicked Good", is so Maine, not Boston! They stole it. And btw, that's the Portland Headlight in the photo. They stole that too. Reminder: NEVER always believe what you see.

  17. Delta is my preferred airline. They really treat you well once you've got a bit of status with them. :)
Have fun in Santa Fe. I'll have to add that blog back to my favorites list. Looking forward to seeing some new shots.
