This, I like very much!!! Glad you spied it so you could photograph it for us. Oh, and the "Hat Rack" post below....we used to see this a lot at Jason's Deli in Tucson with the airbase so close by. Brought back memories.
Amazing--it would stop me dead in my tracks if I happened upon it. And now that I've met you I catch a glimpse of your sense of humor too. Have a lovely week! [possibly with less humidity?]
We're slowly disposing of our collections and often times it's so hard to do because each piece is so unique like this one, somehow the transient nature of life today seems more tangible seeing the well crafted and patinated surfaces of yesteryears.
Definitely old and definitely "antiquey," but what in the world would it have been used for other than decoration? And what could it possibly decorate? :-) Looks like the Minnesota winters may have rusted about part of it's beak?
Swan lake?
ReplyDeleteThis is 4 in a row... another bird shot today. I did miss the memo, didn't I?
ReplyDeletegreat patina on this little critter!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I would love to have one of those sitting on my porch.

ReplyDeleteYup, Kate, this guy does have a few years under his belt. But, then again, so do I.
