A View from the Bridge
Last Sunday I posted several views of the Ford Parkway Bridge. After walking halfway across it, I can show you the upstream view taken from that bridge, looking north. In the distance you can see the Lake Street bridge and behind it, barely a glimpse of one of the buildings on the University of Minnesota campus. How I miss my alma mater...so much energy there!
Looking south there is a glimpse of what you will see if you decide to brave the dams and canoe down the Mississippi to the Gulf. Quite a lovely and challenging sight, isn't it?

Great pictures Kate, the Mississippi looks like it is full and very fast flowing, bit scary to canoe down there I would think.
ReplyDeleteSo much energy in that river too.
ReplyDeletetaking on the conditions in that last shot would take courage indeed.
ReplyDeleteAre there REALLY a lot of gophers in Minnesota? I need to know this. Why the mascot? Are they REALLY golden?
ReplyDeleteA tad challenging but I'd love to try!
ReplyDeleteThere's still a LOT of water in the river!
ReplyDeletede beaux paysages, mais la troisieme photo est impressionannte
ReplyDeleteI had to go back to see last Sunday's post (guess I forgot to comment, because it looked familiar, I do that sometimes)... anyway, there is a lot of greenery in this part which looks very nice and I like your almost aerial views as you must be pretty high up from the river.
ReplyDeleteYou captured some great views - I'm guessing from the lookout on Mississippi River Blvd?
ReplyDeletelovely views of the river!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos Kate. I miss the energy of college life too. I think that is why I keep taking classes.
ReplyDeleteWe returned about 3 weeks ago from the Midwest to our home in Idaho. While we were away we saw a lot of water, much as you show here. I would not brave it with any water craft!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit, it is nice to make your acquaintance!
Ahh, the mighty Mississippi! Always a treat to see her again.
ReplyDeleteI like the second shot the best. The third one scares the dickens out of me! (I'm afraid of water!)
ReplyDeleteThe river looks pretty high in your area too!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. River is live being with changing character, I am sure, and your photos prove it.
ReplyDeleteAnd great hat I saw in Leif's blog!
