Different Camera-Different Light

On three occasions, I have taken photos of this Santa Fe style fireplace in the Bread and Chocolate Café on Grand Avenue. The bottom two were taken by my old Sony Mavica and which were posted on this blog earlier. But the top photo was taken with a flash with my 1-year-old Canon Powershot S31S. Which one do you like the best?

  2. I like the most recent one best, the colors are softer and kind of meld together. Nice shot.

  5. I'm with Carol on this - I love the atmospheric scene in the middle photo. The bottom one is quite nice to look at as well.

  6. The top photo was the only one taken with flash? Too bad I can't see the other two well (they show almost like thumbnails on this hi-res screen).

  7. The top one for the rich color and beautiful flowers. Thanks for stopping by Kate. I recieved an e-mail stating that I was added to the portal this evening. We'll see if it works. Happy weekend to you.

  10. Happy belated birthday fellow Virgo ... I like today's photo the best ... This would not normally be my response because I normally prefer natural light to flash ... However, today's photo shows more detail of the fireplace.

  13. I also like the top photo. Happy belated birthday! I hope you did something special. I too have a Canon S3IS . I really wanted the S5, but when my S2 broke, I was not going to wait until the S5 came out. I keep thinking...wouldn't it be great if it dropped in price and I could have two...I'm such a dreamer.

  14. Tough one, Kate :)
I guess the top one for the detail, but I like the bottom one, too for the composition & sense of place.
    Happy B-Day!

  15. I am not sure whether the top one or the other in the middle. The first image is well centered, has much more illumination, the flowers are great. The second one although in the dark, shows beautiful red flowers and the light is coming from the bulb, the rest are shadows. The tone of the light is different and creates a much more dramatic picture. So! I like the second one.

  19. It seems everyone likes all of them for different reasons. i agree, but if I have to choose, its the one with your new camera. I like the way the flash highlights the picture.

  23. I like the most recent one too. The middle one might edge it out with a few adjustments in Photoshop (or whatever you like to use).
