Slow Down!

The car is parked across the street from a neighborhood school and playground, used by elementary students during school hours and at other times for sports activities. The playground will get busier now that school is over because of summer sports. Our city has been on a campaign for several years to caution drivers and remind them of the laws. This resident apparently took the message to the streets in a public way!

  1. This is a good idea. One of my pet peeves is people speeding through residential areas or any area where kids play. It shows such a lack of respect or concern for other's safety.

    Kudo's to this concerned person.

  3. I love your new heading too. I would love to get on a plane and just go. I love to travel.
I hope people will heed the slow down sign.

  4. I've never seen this before. It's a brilliant idea.

I think the concept applies to every day life too. Stop to smell the roses.

  5. The council does the same thing in our village. There are 10 or so 2-dimensional ankle-biters popping out from behind lampposts.
    Good idea.

  6. It seems the problem of selfish drivers is everywhere in the world, we too have similar problems around our local school!!!
Many thanks for your wonderful comments about my photo (from yesterday) on Malta dp.

  7. A different kind of "sculpture"! Maybe not so nice as the preceding ones you have shown, but certainly very useful. A nice intiative!

  8. That slow down guy looks big. Do they drive around with it on or just put it out when they're parked?

  12. What a great idea! I may have to see where I can get one of those. I have no problem copying someones idea where the welfare of children is concerned.

  14. I agree that this is an excellent idea--a big KID SHAPED sign--people seem to blow by every other sign, roll through the stopsigns, etc...

we should all slow down in many ways anyways!

  15. That's a cute guy! I wouldn't mind riding around with him on top of my car. It's a creative way to remind drivers to take care.
