"Fly Me to the Moon..."

I never realized how difficult it is to capture an airplane in flight; I have lots to learn!! For three other attempts with partial success in capturing NWA in flight over my house, click to see them on my ExtraExtra blog.

I adore this song, especially the version of Sinatra with the count basy orchestrated. beautiful photograph, because you are right not easy to take a plane in vol. I wish you a good weekend

  3. Awesome photo! After looking at the extra photos, I understand what you mean.

Moving objects are harder to shoot than stationary ones.

  6. I tried to see your other shots, but the link did not work for me.

Anyhow, this one is really good! (I never tried, but I can imagine the difficulty.)

Actually this is a good shot. I do agree it is not exactly "easy" to capture an airplane in flight. Most of what I shoot of airplanes are almost always directly overhead and that limits what can be seen. I like your shot because it exposes the sides of the plane.

Thanks too, Kate, for your comments on my blog today.

  11. I see you standing there at the ready. *smile*
I can appreciate the effort that went into it, I was trying to get a got shot at horses with carriages (Fiakers, as they are being called here in Vienna) driving by Starbucks, and it took me about 2 dozen tries until I got all the parts I wanted to captures. ;-)

  16. Kate, GMTA. Just the other day I was in the airport vicinity and saw many "close encounters" slip away from me... I didn't have my camera with me. Glad you managed to capture this.
