Many CDP bloggers and I as well post photos which put our city in the best light with beautiful and attractive scenery in the best parts of town. Nothing wrong with that, but sometimes reality is overwhelming. That beautiful soft snowfall which is so scenic usually descends to unattractive lumps and heaps of tired snow.
Linking to Friday Fences
Snow is beautiful in the mountains, up in the trees and on postcards. NOT when you have to move it yourself ...
ReplyDeleteYup. In the city snow fall can turn into an ugly scene.
ReplyDeleteThat is still a lot of snow. How is the temperature now, we don't hear anything about in the news now anymore.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the snow is tired, the fence is not!
ReplyDeleteScraggly Fence
yeah, i don't like snow when it becomes like this!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the "tired snow" every day, would make winter seem to drag by ever so slowly.
ReplyDeleteYep...reality in a snow fall....I hate those dirty snow piles! Like the fence in the background though!
ReplyDeleteYou are right Kate, but this image still has some very attractive features oui !
ReplyDeleteI remember my dad saying something similar when I was a kid and would get all excited about a new snow fall. He was so right!
ReplyDeleteah, yes. the spoils of winter. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember that from living in Illinois. Not my favorite memory.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the aftermath in all its dirty ugliness! Don't miss that at all!
ReplyDeleteParticularly on the roadsides, where a lot of salt and sand is put down with the snow before it's plowed to the side, the piles can get to look pretty ugly.
ReplyDeleteThat is what our snow is looking like now too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of snow!
ReplyDeleteLiz
I was at our local grocery this morn and wished I had had my camera...the pile of snow from that parking lot was probably 8-10 ft. tall. I don't remember ever seeing one quite as big as it around here.
ReplyDeleteAsh all over the snow, made it look pretty awful.
ReplyDeleteA reality for sure! Not a big fan of this part of the snow cycle. Like the shot.
ReplyDeleteHmmm it doesn't age that well!
ReplyDeleteThe strong fence lines are nice. The snow? Yes, kind of tired looking.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a bit of snow you have there. We have nothing on the ground but a few patches of ice here and there.
ReplyDeleteWe had the worst hailstorm ever two days ago. Can you imagine Lisbon covered with ice, 45 cm high in some places?!
ReplyDeleteIt look nice when falling I hate the after mess..
ReplyDeleteUgh - won't it be wonderful to see winter loosen her grip on us? Come see some promising signs and share your photo at this week's Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday) linkup here:
