Friday Fences

Last Friday I posted a fence with snow that had turned to an old, unsightly and tired mound of snow.  This fence surrounded by soft white snow is what we normally think of when recalling snow gently falling on the land.  Which is more realistic, last Friday's photo or today's?

  1. They both reflect reality so I suppose it depends on what flavour of reality one prefers. I, personally, would prefer my reality sans snow; now if that were only an option.

  2. I always think of snow in the context of scenes like your charming photos today, not your photo from last Friday. But I don't live where I have occasion to drive in snow.

  3. I like snowy pictures and the one with the fence is beautiful. This is how snow looks at his best.

  5. I always think of the pretty white snow that you have today, but it seems the piles of dirty stuff stays around the longest.

  6. I absolutely prefer the top one - cleaner and simpler.

  8. They're both realistic. Wonderful bright light fluffy snow inevitably turns into dirty, grubby, slushy snow. :) Always like fence pics, especially with new-fallen snow!

  9. Give me the snowy wonderland scenes. A couple more big snows and the fence with gates may be completely buried.

  10. Being a fourth generation Texan....I really can't answer that. Yes, I live in Colorado half the year...but it is in the summer.

  11. It's two sides of the same kind of weather. This is lovely.

  12. Today's version is extra nice, but I have to admit that as an entry anything with this much snow doesn't seem terribly inviting. And one can't ignore that this fluffy pile of snow is going to get tired and grungy, too...though if all goes well I suppose you may be able to avoid it?

  14. Uh, those are gates that are not going to be opened for quite a while. I prefer the clean photos from today. Yes, I also show the underside of my place occasionally, but what is pretty and nice and pleasing to me is what I prefer to see and what I prefer to show. Let someone else be a crusader. I am a positive person and I vote for the positive.

  15. We here in East Texas had show on our fences this morning but it sure didn't look anything like this. You Northerners would laugh at what we call a snowfall!

  16. This is a great shot. I don't miss the Chicago snow I saw while growing up but photos are always gorgeous.

  17. Beautiful fences. Love how they are embedded in the snow.
