Art and Artists-ABC WEDNESDAY "A"

St Paul Academy-Summit School has a beautiful art gallery where visiting artists and students are able to display their work.  Currently work of 6th through 12 grade students' paintings,  photography, and ceramics are on display in the Winter Student Art Show.  These three paintings are all artistic endeavors of 8th graders. They and the art teachers are to be congratulated because they always produce award-winning art.

  1. I like this, the bright colours, it is almost like the Aboriginal art with all the dots.

  6. My reaction was also that this is evocative of Australian Aboriginal art. As I mentioned the other day, we recently in Peru saw a proclamation commemorating the visit to St. Paul Academy by a leading Peruvian artist. The students are very fortunate to have such enrichment in their education, and they are showing the talent that can be developed and unleashed by such opportunities.

The student art exhibit and the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts is always extremely impressive.

  8. Reminds me of those black velvet posters from the 70's. No I have never been to the Coyote Cafe, it's a little too pricey for me.

  19. My first visit to your blog – the artwork on your post intrigued me.

I saw that you read Alan Furst’s Mission to Paris – how did you like it? It was given to me at Christmas – I have not read it yet. How about The Sandcastle Girls? I liked that and understood why my father’s orphaned cousin was brought up in Aleppo. I really enjoyed my first visit here.
